Happy Father's Day to all you mom's that are both parents for your kids. And for those of you who have great fathers or whose kids have great fathers, make sure you celebrate them today. I bet most of these men would love to have some grilled goodness for their day! You don't have to tell them this because then they may ask you to prepare the food differently but did you know grilling is generally healthier?
Typically to grill, you use less oils and butters on your food which decreases your intake of unhealthy fats. Also, while you're cooking meat on a grill the fat drips away from the meat into the bottom of the grill instead of sticking around. [You don't even need the "Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine" by George Foreman.]
Grilling is a great way to heat food while preserving nutrition content if you cook foods slowly at a low heat. Try cooking lots of vegetables on the grill to add some nutrient dense foods to your meal. Many people will find that vegetables they'd otherwise dislike are yummy after they've been grilled. (bell peppers, corn, squash, mushrooms, potatoes, eggplant, onion, asparagus, romaine lettuce- just to name a few you could try)
With all of these benefits, go fire up that grill!!!
