WOW 2020 has been crazy over here at my household! I'm excited for the summer and all the fun it will bring. Usually people experience a change in routine during the summer which can also throw you off your "A game" when it comes to pursuing your health. I encourage you to do a few things before the summer begins to allow yourself the freedom to have fun without giving up the freedom of health!
1. Make a goal and post it somewhere you can see it. I encourage you to have a health-oriented goal as well as a life goal (ie. organize the basement, start a new career, etc.).
2. Make sleep a priority most nights. Sleep is sometimes the first thing to go in the summer time but sleep deprivation causes impulsive eating, decreased energy and impairs motivation as well as emotional regulation. Keep trying to get 7-9 hours of sleep every single night.
3. Have some fun! Whether this be a vacation with your kids, a night out with friends or your spouse, or taking on a new hobby, make sure you have some time for fun. It's good for your heart (physical and emotional) to have some fun!
