Many people start trying to live healthy because they no longer fit in a pair of pants or the number on the scale just told them they weight more than they ever thought they would. While it's great to have those serve as a wake up call those reasons aren't going to be good enough to get you started and keep you going. You need a deeper "why" to form new healthier habits.
Here are a few a few reasons you may want to use as your "why"- 1. Weight loss will prevent chronic diseases that are expensive to treat in both time and money. 2. Your idea of living life to its fullest doesn't include doctor's offices, joint pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, pharmacies and hospitalizations. 3. Playing with your kids and grandkids sounds like fun! 4. Taking care of your body will give you confidence and strength which will improve every area of life. 5. The people you love are watching the way you treat your body and will think it's a good idea to treat their body the same way. 6. Feeling good, having energy and motivation are an important part of how you want to live your life. 7. Your parents or grandparents had diseases you don't want to have. 8. You want to make the BIGGEST positive impact possible on the world and those who you love. 9. You've been stuck in a cycle of overeating, guilt about food choices, obsession about calories and you're sick of it! You're ready for food freedom! 10. Depression, anxiety and other mental health problems aren't being well managed by medications or you're tired of being on medications. What's your reason for making healthier choices? Don't forget to write those reasons down or save them somewhere for reference. Look at them often to keep yourself motivated.
